Dr. Kathy Brennan – MBA, MSLS, PhD
Postdoctoral Research Fellow – iSchool (Library, Archival and Information Studies)
Kathy is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Engagement Lab, where she conducts research on individual differences, task characteristics, and learning in exploratory search environments. Kathy earned her Ph.D. in Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May, 2018. Her broader research focus is on how cognitive factors influence differences in the ways people search for and evaluate information, toward the goal of informing ways that technology can be used to optimize users’ cognitive strengths while reducing the impact of their weaknesses during these activities.

Amelia is an information studies graduate student at UBC’s iSchool. She is researching the influence of affect and engagement in information and human-computer interaction.
